Chinese soprano Sen Guo studied at the Shanghai Conservatory and the Zhou Xiao Yan Opera Center. During her studies she won the China Vocal Competition, the Shanghai International Masterclass Institute and the Hong Kong Competition for Young Asian Musicians. In addition, she sang at the Opera Shanghai Violetta (La Traviata). In 2009-2010 she studied with Professor László Polgár at the Zurich School of Music.

Since the 2002/03 season Sen Guo has been a permanent member of the ensemble of the Zurich Opera House, where she appeared as Queen of the Night, Oscar (Un ballo in maschera), Frasquita (Carmen), flower girl (Parsifal), Voce dal cielo (Don Carlo), Cecilio (Lucio Silla by Johann Christian Bach), Fiakermilli (Arabella), Zerbinetta (Ariadne auf Naxos), Amaltea (Mosè in Egitto), Giulia (La scala di seta) and Gilda (Rigoletto). In addition, she was Queen of the Night (The Magic Flute) at the Semperoper Dresden, the Berlin Staatsoper Unter den Linden, the Deutsche Oper in Berlin, the Hamburg State Opera, at the Theater St. Gallen and at the Theatre of Vienna and the State Opera House Latvia.

In July 2012, she was invited to the Salzburg Festival to sing at the opening concert of the new season (Exsultate Jubilate). In October 2012, Sen Guo debuted as Musetta in La Bohème at the Shanghai International Festival.

Sen Guo is also known for her recitals and chamber music. Her performance of the oratorio and concert repertoire, includes Schumann’s Requiem, Mozart’s Requiem, Fauré’s Requiem and Rossini’s Stabat Mater.
She has collaborated with conductors including Zubin Mehta, Christoph von Dohnanyi, and Franz Welser Möst.
