The Opera Centre, Melbourne is conveniently located in the heart of Southbank on City Road. Join us on the fourth floor in Studio One.
Ticketing For performances and events at the Opera Centre, Melbourne, our ticket desk is located in the level 4 foyer. This desk will be open for ticket collection and sales from one hour before the start of each performance.
Parking is available in the Wilson Parking - Eureka car park at 70 City Road. Alternatively, there are various parking facilities available nearby – see the map below.
Please note that as of 9 March 2023, Sturt Street will be permanently closed to vehicles, bikes and pedestrians. We recommend allowing extra time if you plan to park in the Arts Centre or the Ballet Centre carparks. Visit the Melbourne Arts Precinct website for more information and the latest updates.
Flinders Street train station is the closest station to the Opera Centre, Melbourne, approximately 6 minutes’ walk away. For timetable information and trip planning visit PTV.
The nearest tram stop is Stop 14 (Arts Precinct/St Kilda). This stop is serviced by tram route 1, 3, 5, 6, 16, 64, 67 and 72.
Access to the Opera Centre, Melbourne is via a small step. The foyer is accessed via one of two medium-sized lifts.
Once on level four, there are no stairs. Seating is all on one flat floor.
Seating at most performances and events at the Opera Centre, Melbourne is general admission, however accessible seating reservations can be made by calling our Box Office on (03) 9929 9600. This includes removable seats/spaces for wheelchair and scooter-users, seats situated on aisles, or close to entry points.
During performances, walkers are generally stowed just outside the entrance to the hall, and can be retrieved by front-of-house staff at the end of the performance, at interval or upon request.
There are accessible toilets available.
A hearing loop is not available at the Opera Centre, Melbourne

Guide dogs and service animals are welcome at the Opera Centre, Melbourne. As all seating is removable, animals are welcome to sit in a space alongside any seat.
Accessible car spaces are available at the nearby Wilson Parking – Eureka car park.
