About this performance
The Cybec Foundation supports the MSO to present the Cybec 21st Century Australian Composers’ Program each year.
This event is the culmination of a mentorship program of this year’s participants by leading Australian composers. You’ll hear four new works by these participants performed by the MSO and conducted by Cybec Assistant Conductor Carlo Antonioli, after which one participant will be chosen as the Cybec Young Composer in Residence for 2024.
Since 2003 when the program was introduced, 80 composers from across Australia have had works commissioned and performed by the MSO. All have continued on to widely diverse creative practices and the MSO has offered several subsequent commissions to graduates of the program.
The Cybec Foundation generously provides support for the 21st Century Australian Composers’ Program and Carlo Antonioli's Assistant Conductor position.
