Jams in Schools is now at capacity for 2024.

Jams in Schools is a new initiative for students in Prep – Year 6 from disadvantaged or low SES backgrounds to engage with orchestral music and orchestral instruments.

MSO Artist in Residence and leading music education specialist, Karen Kyriakou and six MSO musicians will come to your school and lead fun and interactive workshops exploring a piece of orchestral music, pulling out musical themes and compositional techniques.

Workshops run for 45 minutes and will be differentiated to cater for Years P-3 and Years 4-6. Up to 300 students can participate in each workshop with a maximum of three workshops per day.

We’ll bring everything, even some percussion instruments for students to jam with us! And it’s all completely free!

Jams in Schools is proudly supported by our Major Partner, Melbourne Airport, and by the Department of Education, Victoria, through the Strategic Partnerships Program.

Jams in Schools is supported by AWM Electrical, Jean Hadges, Hume City Council, Marian and EH Flack Trust, and Flora and Frank Leith Trust.
