The following permanent, full time position will be auditioned by the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra in 2021.

Assistant Principal Viola
- The first and second movements of the Stamitz OR the Hoffmeister viola concerto, with cadenza
- PLUS the first movement of the Bartók OR the Walton viola concerto
- PLUS Orchestral excerpts
Closing date: Tuesday 5 October 2021
Repertoire for the first round will be advised on Wednesday 6 October 2021. All recordings of the first-round requirements will need to be provided to MSO by COB Wednesday 3 November 2021. All candidates will be advised of their results from the first round no later than Wednesday 10 November 2021.
Audio only recordings are to be provided (no video).
For candidates who progress through to the second round, repertoire required for this round and all remaining rounds will be advised no later Thursday 11 November 2021. All recordings for the remaining rounds will need to be provided to MSO no later than COB Thursday 18 November 2021.
