Melbourne violinist Karla Hanna completed her studies at the Australian National Academy of Music in 2017 where she was tutored by Dr Robin Wilson and Sophie Rowell. She then completed a Bachelor of Music through the University of New England in 2022.
She has appeared as a soloist with the Melbourne Chamber Orchestra and the Melbourne Youth Orchestra.
As a chamber musician, Karla has performed in Festivals such as the Bendigo Chamber Music Festival and the Canberra International Music Festival and has performed and toured with quartets such as Quartz Quartet and the MCO quartet.
Karla has had the privilege of touring Europe and Asia as associate Concertmaster of the Australian Youth Orchestra in 2016 and in 2017 was appointed Concertmaster of the orchestra.
Before becoming a 1st violinist with the MSO, Karla has had an extensive freelance career performing regularly with orchestras around Australia such as the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra Victoria, and the Melbourne Chamber Orchestra.
