Born in Rome, soprano Chiara Taigi has a career of more than 25 years, with more than 70 operas in her repertoire and more than 500 performances and concerts worldwide. She has performed in major theaters, including the Teatro alla Scala, Metropolitan Opera House, Carnegie Hall and in the leading theaters in Europe and in the World. Her repertoire encompasses leading soprano roles in operas such as Tosca, La Bohème, Aida, Un Ballo in Maschera, Pagliacci, Simon Boccanegra, La Traviata, The Marriage of Figaro, Suor Angelica, Don Giovanni and Cavalleria Rusticana.
Taigi has performed as the main opera singer on RAI TV network in Italy, BBC, FRANCE, ZDF, RTVE and on many European networks. She recorded various CDs and DVDs including Verdi’s Un Ballo in Maschera at the Leipzig Opera with Decca. She studied voice with Ivenza Fogli, and has taken master classes with leading opera singers and teachers such as Richard Bonynge, Regina Resnick, Jeffrey Tate, Renata Tebaldi and Virginia Zeani and won many awards and competitions.
