About the performance
About the Performance: Famed as the iconic soundtrack to Stanley Kubrick’s film masterpiece 2001: A Space Odyssey, Strauss’s Also sprach Zarathustra is one of the most iconic and epic orchestral works in the repertoire.
Join French conductor Betrand de Billy and the musicians of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra as we take a deep dive into the drama of this dramatic composition.
Guided Open Rehearsals, led from the stage by the program’s conductor and MSO musicians, are the perfect opportunity to engage with everything from detailed analysis to quiet enjoyment of a live orchestral rehearsal.
This is a real, working rehearsal in the professional life of the MSO so please note that the rehearsal may also include Wagner’s Siegfried Idyll.
