About the performance
The MSO presents a breathtaking evening of classical masterworks, including Schubert’s dramatic Third Symphony, a high-spirited and charming romp imbued with the composer’s youthful vigour. Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto was the first piece that soloist Anne-Marie Johnson begged her teacher to learn, and it’s easy to see why, with its vivacious rhythms and hummable melodies. She’ll be joined by MSO’s Tiffany Cheng for Vivaldi’s Concerto for two violins to complete an evening both elegant and exhilarating.
