About the performance

An astronomical evening awaits with one of the most popular works of all time, Holst’s masterpiece The Planets which has the ability to take you to infinity and beyond!

Holst’s spectacular orchestral suite has secured a universal place in the repertoire with its depiction of seven planets in our solar system.

Sir Andrew Davis conducts the astrological work for the first time in Australia, creating a marvelous experience for first time or established concert goers.

The world premiere of the latest symphony by Composer in Residence Carl Vine commences the evening’s journey taking the MSO from contemporary to classical and back again.
