As part of our 2017 regional tour, the MSO teams up with aboriginal composer and presenter Eric Avery to give you and your students the journey of a lifetime as you explore how great music relates to place, life and culture in Australia and across the world.
Start by adding your own voice to the orchestra in Eric’s audience participatory composition Yananha. Take a cheeky trip into Beethoven’s most amusing symphony and delve into classical wild-child Mendelssohn’s concert piece featuring international superstar Michael Collins and one of Australia’s most inspirational young musical talents, 2015 ABC Young Musician of the Year Lloyd Van’t Hoff.
Along the way you’ll explore the orchestra and discover the key building blocks of music including rhythm, melody, harmony, dynamics and form.
Best suited for primary audiences (Years 1-6) and lower secondary school (years 7&8).
