What began as a five-year mission for the crew of the USS Enterprise has in the half-century since grown to be one of pop culture’s most recognisable series.
Now, the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra will join an international effort to take you where no orchestra has gone before: for the first time, 50 years of Star Trek’s musical achievements will be performed live while its most iconic film and TV footage is beamed in high definition to a 12-metre wide screen.
This sought-after production has played more than 100 concert halls worldwide, but Melbourne’s Sidney Myer Music Bowl will see this interstellar event unfold under the stars with space itself—the final frontier—as its backdrop.
