Maria Theresa, Empress of Austria, was a great admirer of Haydn’s, who returned the admiration with some of his most memorable music. This tribute includes three pieces written in the empress’ honour – the festive Te Deum, a symphony, and a jubilant mass that showcases the mighty MSO Chorus.
Join us for a free 20-minute pre-concert talk in Costa Hall, Geelong commencing at 7pm. Tenor soloist Paul McMahon will present a talk on Haydn and the works featured in the program.
