Maria Theresa, Empress of Austria, was a great admirer of Haydn’s, who returned the admiration with some of his most memorable music. This tribute includes three pieces written in the empress’ honour – the festive Te Deum, a symphony, and a jubilant mass that showcases the mighty MSO Chorus.
