A new century dawns, and a new musical voice emerges, with the opening of Beethoven’s first symphony of 1800. This journey through Beethoven’s heroic decade culminates in his mighty Emperor concerto, featuring one of the leading pianists of our time.

Emerging artists from the University of Melbourne Conservatorium of Music will extend and enhance the MSO concert experience with a performance of Beethoven’s String Quartet in C minor, Op. 18, No. 4.

Post-concert talk – 30 September
Emerging artists from the University of Melbourne Conservatorium of Music will extend and enhance the MSO concert experience with a performance of Beethoven’s Trio in C Major, Op. 87 for two oboes and Cor Anglais.
