A celebration in words and music of the world’s favourite love story.
John Bell is joined by members of Bell Shakespeare and the MSO for this unique experience in words and music. Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet has inspired generations of composers to write music of youthful zest, tragic violence and sublime lyricism. Together, the MSO and Bell Shakespeare bring you the play’s dramatic highlights, along with beautiful music inspired by this, the world’s greatest love story, featuring works by Tchaikovsky, Delius and Prokofiev. Here is an event to demonstrate the power great art has to move us deeply.
Presented in association with Bell Shakespeare.
