About this performance
Four of MSO’s low brass musicians showcase the remarkable versatility, colour and expressive range of the trombone and tuba.
Spanning more than two centuries, this program moves from Beethoven’s noble and intimate Drei Equali through the impressionistic sound world of Debussy, to the vibrant contemporary voices of Fernando Deddos and Kevin Day.
Two major twentieth-century works by Henri Tomasi and Eugène Bozza reveal the lyrical, virtuosic and dramatic possibilities of the low brass ensemble.
