Join us for extraordinary chamber music, commemorating the 200th anniversary of Beethoven's death with this performance of his haunting and dramatic Ghost Piano Trio.
Dvořák's radiant and deeply personal Piano Quintet No.2 is the perfect opportunity to experience the composer's warmth and lyricism up close, complimenting our ongoing exploration of his symphonies.

Joining an orchestra as a musician is like moving into a new community. It is like moving into a new street where you live next to new neighbours, make new friends and slowly find a way of communicating with everyone.
As a musician we are so lucky we can do our job in most parts of the world. You can unpack your violin in New York, Amsterdam or Melbourne but the work is the same. I was fortunate enough to join this orchestra two seasons ago and it felt very natural to unpack my violin case in Southbank after moving away from Europe.
The people make the place and for me the best way to create a connection is to play music together, especially chamber music. One of the most exciting things about playing chamber music, is that you hardly need words. You play, you listen, you watch and try to learn from each other. You take more risks, challenge yourself and the others and try to create a magical moment on stage.
Creating this concert was one of the easiest and most joyful things to do, because everyone wanted to join in sharing the excitement and love for this music.
The perfect way to feel more at home in my new community.

Relaxed performances are designed to be a safe space for audiences of all ages. This performance is tailored to those for whom the traditional concert hall experience may be inaccessible.
As a concertgoer, you can expect:
