About this performance
When you commission a new work, you want everyone to have the chance to hear it. That’s why the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra is bringing Joe Chindamo’s brand new Flute Concerto to Glenroy! It will feature under the hands of Australia’s charismatic flutist Eliza Shephard. Whether you appreciate an artist’s theatrical stage presence or astonishing technical skills, Shephard brings it all to the stage.
Chindamo is the MSO's 2026 Composer in Residence and we’re presenting another one of his works, Fantasie auf Nachtmusik. It reimagines Mozart’s Eine kleine Nachtmusik, so naturally we’re pairing it with a composition by Mozart himself, the final movement of his Linz Symphony.
