Former winner of the Eurovision Young Musician of the Year Isabelle van Keulen returns to Australia to perform with the MSO this October in MSO Plays Schubert 9. Professor for violin, viola and chamber music, Isabelle is set to deliver an enchanting performance of a much-loved Prokofiev composition.
Coming to Melbourne to perform Prokofiev’s stunning Violin Concerto is really exciting! I’ve always admired Russian music in general but Prokofiev has a talent of using strong, yet mellow language. That combination especially makes his work so wonderfully fascinating!
I can’t wait to be in Melbourne, and to experience an Australian spring! I’ve always loved doing sports, and gardening, I’m such an outdoors person, so to be in Melbourne during such a beautiful time of year is going to be so magnificent. I’m equally as excited to get to work with my dear friend Andrew Manze who will be conducting myself and the great orchestra! It’s been such a long time since I have visited Australia, and I’m thrilled to be returning to perform in such a wonderful program!
