Daniel Corvaia is an emerging Australian conductor, violinist and educator. Originally from Western Australia, he holds an Associate Diploma (AmusA) in violin performance and a Bachelor of Music (Honours) from the UWA Conservatorium of Music. 

In 2024 and 2025, Daniel was awarded a Conducting Fellowship with the West Australian Symphony Orchestra (WASO). Through this position, he has received regular training opportunities with the orchestra, worked closely with Associate Conductor Jen Winley, and assisted conductors including Asher Fisch, Vasily Petrenko, and Umberto Clerici. 

In 2025, Daniel was selected as a member of the Australian Conducting Academy. As part of the program, he is working with leading orchestras across Australia and New Zealand — including the Tasmanian, Melbourne, Queensland, Sydney, West Australian, and Adelaide Symphony Orchestras, as well as the Auckland Philharmonia. This year, Daniel has been invited to participate in masterclasses with renowned conductors Benjamin Northey, Asher Fisch, Eivind Aadland, Martyn Brabbins, Giordano Bellincampi, and Otto Tausk. 

A committed music educator, Daniel also holds a Master of Teaching from the University of Western Australia. He has worked with the WA Youth Orchestras and will make his debut with the Melbourne Youth Orchestra in 2026. 

Daniel is delighted to be joining the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra’s Artistic Family in 2026, where he will work closely with Chief Conductor Jaime Martín, Principal Conductor Benjamin Northey, and other guest artists.
