Sara Duhig is a respected conductor and musician based in Perth, with a strong background as a professional violinist and educator. After performing for many years with the West Australian Symphony Orchestra (WASO), she became the String Specialist at St Mary’s Anglican Girls’ School, where she began her conducting career by directing the premier orchestra in collaboration with Hale School.
Sara has since built a diverse conducting portfolio across youth, community, and professional orchestras. In 2023, she was selected for Perth Symphony Orchestra’s Women on the Podium advanced conducting stream and received a WASO Conducting Fellowship in 2024. She was also selected for the 2025 Australian Conducting Academy, working with all major Australian State Orchestras and esteemed mentors.
Sara conducts regularly for Perth Symphony Orchestra and recently led a national tour of Avatar: The Last Airbender in Concert. In 2025, she will conduct Top Gun: Maverick and Barbie the Movie in concert. In 2026, she debuts with both the Adelaide and Melbourne Symphony Orchestras, further advancing her growing presence in Australia’s classical music scene.
