Australian baritone Lachlan Higgins is an emerging artist whose work centres on detailed character exploration and a desire to perform opera that attracts contemporary audiences. He completed a degree in Classical Voice at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts in 2021, followed by a master’s degree in Advanced Opera Performance at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, studying with Geoffrey Moses.

Lachlan’s recent roles include Joseph De Rocher (Dead Man Walking), Don Giovanni, Demetrius (A Midsummer Night’s Dream), Schaunard (La bohème) and Marco (Gianni Schicchi). He has appeared with Freeze Frame Opera, West Australian Opera, Lost and Found Opera, Opera de Bauge and Grange Park Opera, and had the privilege of performing alongside Bryn Terfel in his concert Pan ddaw’r nos: An Evening of Song.

Lachlan is the recipient of the Paulette Bisley Opera Scholarship and the Max & Jill Schulz Opera Society Scholarship with Melba Opera Trust for 2026.
