Casual Auditions
Applications are sought from musicians of outstanding ability for a fixed-term contract as Assistant Principal Viola with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.
The contract will be offered for the period Wednesday 1 April to Monday 20 July 2020, with a possible additional period from Monday 24 August to Sunday 11 October 2020.
Audition date:
Thursday 26 March 2020, from 1.15pm
Requirements:
• The First Movement of a classical concert (no cadenza)
• PLUS the exposition of Bartók viola concert OR Walton viola concerto
• PLUS Orchestral Excerpts, available on Thursday 12 March
Closing date:
Wednesday 11 March 2020, 5.00pm
This position is only open to Citizens of Australia or New Zealand, and Australian Permanent Residents and is offered as a local, Melbourne-based engagement.
