Beethoven Symphony No.3 Eroica

Osmo Vänskä conductor
Frank Peter Zimmermann violin

Beethoven famously deleted his original dedication of his Eroica symphony to Napoleon, on finding that his hero had crowned himself emperor. But the Eroica is more than a significant political statement: it was the grandest and most ambitious orchestral work of its time. Superb Finnish maestro Osmo Vänskä returns to Melbourne for this brilliant season finale, in which he partners one of the great violinists of our time in Sibelius’ powerful concerto.

Duration
