ONE CONCERT ONLY! DON’T MISS OUT!
From the heat of Cuban dance halls to the masterful restraint of Ravel’s Bolero, rhythm plays a vital role in music, and throughout history has been shared, adopted and adapted by musical cultures and composers from all across the globe. In this exciting mid-week concert, the MSO will join forces with acclaimed UK percussionists Ollie Cox and Owen Gunnell and composer Fraser Trainer, in an event which celebrates the powerful, intrinsic force that is rhythm in music. The evening will feature a brand new piece by Fraser Trainer for the MSO and O-Duo, which resonates strongly with contemporary urban rhythms, alongside orchestral works from a range of composers, including Béla Bartók, Maurice Ravel and Arturo Marquez.
