There are few countries in the world which can match Australia in the variety
and quality of music-making by its people. Music is, by its nature, a unique form of expression which is capable
of directly defining and communicating the diverse expressions of a culture.

| |
In Australia, we are fortunate to enjoy a rich and varied range of musical
expression, which defines and communicates both to ourselves and to others, our emerging cultural identity.
|
| |
Therefore, the concept of Australian music is quite difficult to grasp and
orchestral music with its traditional Western European roots is even more difficult to describe. |

Listen to the works of Anne Boyd, Percy Grainger, Peter Sculthorpe, Peggy Glanville Hicks,
Carl Vine & Matthew Hindson. Just to name a few. |
